Structured around the four seasons, this is a flexible and useful teaching resource with a helpful commentary.
Topics include sheep and lambing, pigs, milking cows, eggs, ploughing and harvest-time activities including fruit picking and the harvesting of vegetables, beef production, deer management and venison and Scottish fish farming.
A selection of farmer interviews can be viewed allowing pupils to get an understanding of the dynamic nature of farming firsthand.
The resource will promote awareness and appreciation of the environmental and economic changes taking place in rural Scotland while focusing on a number of areas of the Curriculum for Excellence, including Health & Wlelbeing, Science and Social Studies.
Unfortunately, we do not have any more copies of Scotland's Farming Year on DVD but the videos from the DVD are available on our YouTube page.
