Inspired by The Vegetable Orchestra https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xM1EjIDLMLY we have put together a number of worksheets that will guide you through making your own vegetable instruments.
From as simple as scrunchy onion skins and pea shakers, through neep drums and guitars, to the more complex carrot recorder, there is something there for all ages and abilities! Each worksheet has instructions and some additional activities for your pupils to carry out as they create their class band.
Success is shown by following instructions, observing and recording sounds and troubleshooting. The pack includes step-by-step instrument making, testing and refining sounds and a plenary discussion on sound differences, creativity, safety and sustainable use of natural materials.
